Owner & Mat Instructor: Kara Nielsen

Kara was re-introduced to Pilates following the birth of her second child discovering she had diastasis recti.  During the process of closing her diastasis with Pilates, Kara became inspired to help other women maintain a healthy core and pelvic floor. 

She enrolled in the Kane School at Kinected Center New York City and became certified in Mat Pilates studying under Kelly Kane. Following mat certification, she immediately enrolled in a course developed by Lisa Schoenholt at Brooklyn Embodied titled Control D: the art of diastasis repair where she learned how to treat and modify exercises for clients with diastasis recti. Kara has also worked with Reproductive Endocrinologists in Westchester County, NY to determine exercises and mat programs that are safe and effective for women struggling with infertility or other reproductive health concerns.

Previously Kara earned two Master’s degrees in Education and taught science in NYC.  She is a proud IVF warrior who struggled with infertility for 2 years before conceiving her first daughter via IVF.  Her fertility journey and complications following birth inspired Kara to help other women. It is her passion to support and strengthen women struggling with infertility as well as any other person striving for a healthy lifestyle. 

Kara currently lives in Westchester County, NY with her husband and two daughters.
